Public Speaking
Each year, I accept a small number of speaking engagements, including keynote conference speeches, corporate events and private boardroom functions. My focus is on the critical importance of long term thinking in a fast-moving world, and on how to make short term decisions that will stand the test of time. This includes a particular emphasis on the implications of disruption, the need to "burn the base case" and give up the widespread addiction to the status quo, "the most dangerous white-collar drug in use in boardrooms today", making use of a new generation of quantitative big data/analytics tools to do so.
With 30 years experience in strategic, corporate and financial advisory work, I have the privilege of a huge range of practical examples of successes and failures of corporate and government decision-making, covering most major economies, and most of the larger countries in the Asia Pacific region, and I have extensive personal experience of cross-border, cross cultural negotiation and business development. |
